According to the Maryland State Police, Sriya was a passenger in a 2005 Honda Accord that collided with the back of a tractor-trailer while traveling in the same direction.

The driver of the Honda, 19-year-old George Nikhil Painumkal from Waterford, Virginia, was airlifted to Ruby Memorial Hospital with injuries. Another passenger, 18-year-old Aneesh Nagireddi from Ashburn, Virginia, was also injured and transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance. Thankfully, the truck driver, 70-year-old Eric Rowe from Ontario, Canada, was unharmed in the crash.
