Lindsey Webster Alice Death, Obituary – A tragic motor vehicle collision early Wednesday morning has claimed the life of 24-year-old Lindsey Webster, a resident of Alice, Texas. The deadly crash occurred at approximately 1:11 a.m. on May 14, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and Farm-to-Market Road 2044, a location just north of the city.

According to Staff Sergeant Rob Mallory of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a 2006 Kenworth truck tractor, driven by 68-year-old Manual Garza of Roma, was traveling northbound on Highway 281 while towing a 2002 Utility trailer. Simultaneously, Lindsey Webster was driving a 2024 Kia Sorento westbound on FM 2044 and approached the intersection.

Preliminary reports from the DPS indicate that Webster failed to heed a stop sign at the intersection. As a result, her vehicle entered the path of the oncoming truck. The impact was catastrophic, with the truck striking the driver’s side of Webster’s SUV. The force of the collision caused both vehicles to veer into the grassy median and come to rest there.

Lindsey Webster suffered severe injuries from the crash and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Manual Garza, the truck driver, has not been reported as injured.

The Texas Highway Patrol Office in Alice is actively investigating the crash. Officials have stated that more details will be released as the investigation continues. Toxicology reports, road conditions, and potential contributing factors such as lighting or visibility may also play a role in determining the cause of the crash.

Family, friends, and members of the community are mourning the loss of Webster, a young woman described by those who knew her as vibrant, kind, and full of life. Social media tributes have already begun circulating, with many expressing their heartbreak and sending condolences to her family.

This tragedy underscores the importance of traffic safety, particularly at rural intersections where traffic controls such as stop signs can sometimes be overlooked. DPS officials continue to urge drivers to remain alert and cautious on the road, especially during nighttime hours when visibility is reduced.
